Ollie, fullname being Ollie S. “The Snakeoil Salesman” Boidae, is a character I created on December 29th 2022. She was a Cog Manager, an OC for Toontown- specifically the fanmade revival Toontown Corporate Clash, a game that reimagines Cog classifications to add more characterized high ranking leadership enemies. Her intent was to be over the top and tropey, a bitchey, bitey, twofaced backstabbing snake. She produced and sold purposefully faulty cosmetic products that ended up being more harm than good in the long run, working in secret right under the Toon populace’s rubbery noses.
Since then, she’s been by my side as I roam new interests. She functions as both my persona and fursona- quite an impressive milestone for what was originally a one-off OC!
Part of why she has such a staying presence in my mind is how she intertwines with and is a pleasant reminder of the time period where I got to really know the person who would end up being my best friend. I love you to pieces, Granite.
She means a lot to me. Over the years, she’s come to be somewhat symbolic for a period of my life where I truely got to mature and understand who I am. She holds a lot of traits that I don’t quite like on my face, and has helped me slowly overcome them. Ollie is a rude and bitchy sleaze, but she represents being confident and entirely true to yourself, even if that ‘you’ isn’t exactly palatable.
Whether shes a killer robot, a worm from space, a hydra, or otherwise, she remains a beloved- albiet caricaturized- mini-me, of sorts. I hope you like her too.
