i selfship with, and have created this shrine to, wizardmon, specifically the wizardmon from the first season of the digimon anime, digimon adventure, which aired in 1999. his first cameo appearance in the anime is (episode), and he is properly shown and introduced in (episode).
wizardmon is a humanoid digimon with a short stature and grey complexion. he has pointed, elf-like ears and stitched shut lips, the latter he covers with the collar of his cloak. he wears a tall witch's hat with a skull attached to the hat band, his tattered cloak, and a zipper covered jumpsuit with a vest over it. his hair is long and blonde and worn straight down with a low ponytail at the very end of it.
i have had an interest in digimon since i was a child, with it being one of my primary inspirations to start doing art in the first place. i was unable to watch the anime to completion however, as i was. well. a child without a way of finding any sort of compilation of the episodes if they werent airing on current channels. however, once i became an adult with unlimited internet acsess, i was able to do so. in the english dub, which is how i watched it out of nostalgia's sake, he has a wise but witty demeanor, a warm voice, and a soft disposition. he is often aloof, and doesnt seem to care for much other than who he considers his closest allies, including caring for his own wellbeing. its this that leads to his death, sacrificing himself for the sake of his closest friend.
it isnt mentioned in the anime, instead in a drama cd, but confirmation is given that this wizardmon isnt from the digital world, and instead a parallel one named witchelny, like several other digimon. according to the digimon reference book, wizardmon came to the digital world to advance his scorcery studies, and that "magic" equates to a higher level programming language in the digital world. through that, he is able to use skills that many digimon seem incapable to do, which include (but arent limited to) minor healing, short term memory erasure, and casted invisibility.

featured alongside him is my digimon sona, reflecmon! in my self indulgent self insert au, reflecmon is an american digidestined who obtains a broken digivice, and is fused with the data of what would have been her partner. she joins myotismon's army quite a span of time before wizardmon does. the events of the myotismon arc happen, wizardmon and gatomon leave for the human world, but reflecmon doesn't come with them.
